How to Clean Your Shaker Cup

How to Clean Your Shaker Cup

Does your shaker cup have a funky smell? Most BPA-free plastic bottles can develop odours if they are not cleaned properly after use. Try these tips for removing pesky odours from your Sweat Supps Shaker Cup:

Make a habit of washing your shaker with warm soapy water immediately after each use. Leave the cap off and let it dry completely. If you're like us, sometimes it sits in the car for a day...or a week. In that case, here are a few tips to clean your shaker and make it smell fresh again!

1) Baking Soda + Warm Water

Mix one cup of baking soda with one cup of warm to hot water. Stir the mixture to dissolve, then pour it into the cup. Shake it well and let it soak overnight. In the morning, wash the mixture out and rinse. Leave the cap off, and let it air dry.

2) Used Coffee Grounds

Place fresh, damp coffee grounds inside the shaker. Screw on the lid and leave the bottle to sit overnight, with flip cap closed.

3) Crumped Newspaper or Paper Towel

Take a piece of newspaper and quickly run it under tap water. Crumple up and place inside of the shaker. Screw on the lid and let it sit for 24 hours, with the flip cap closed.

Similarly, take a couple sheets of paper towel, add a few drops of vanilla extract and proceed as above.

Have you tried one of these methods? Let us know how it works for you!
